Or else you would have to replace your smartkey batteries constantly.Ī sidenote, I recorded the 315mhz signal a while ago with my spectrum analyzer. Would this be possible or do other electronics in the cars' system require a constant signal from the EIS system to operate? I would think once the initial connection is made the process is over until you restart the car. My question is that if I found a way to bypass the EIS in the column and make the connection would I be able start the car? I would like to migrate the system to a mechanical key and be done with the EIS BS. It seems to me as though the initial recognition of the 315mhz IR signal initiates a solenoid in the column that actuates the connection to the starter and allows for the car to start. I am unwilling to pay the $360 the MB of Daytona Beach wants to lift from my wallet and was wondering if there is a way to by pass the EIS system. Without a replacement the car is now a statue. Recently my smart key transponder failed. Now I have an issue that you may help to shine some light on. So I have been carousing these forums for years but never posted,I have enjoyed reading your post so thanks.
